365体育注册In an abundance of caution, and in accordance with the guidance from the State of Florida, Okaloosa County Schools will be closed until the end of March, this includes the cancellation of all activities and events.

365体育注册As such, we are currently evaluating possible make-up dates for our Teach at the Beach Job Fair, but until such time as we are given permission to resume our regularly scheduled activities an exact date cannot be set. Articles - 2020 - CHS - Indianettes

The Choctawhatchee Indianettes Dance Team was recognized at the March 9th School Board meeting for winning the 2020 Florida Dance Championships in the Small Varsity Hip Hop and Small Varsity Pom divisions and for placing 3rd in the Small Varsity Game Day division at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) National Competition. They are the first high school in Okaloosa County to earn a medal at UDA Nationals.

The Indianettes also placed 2nd in the Small Varsity Game Day division and won the Crowd Appeal Award in the Hip Hop division.

Articles - 2020 - Edge - Elks Lodge Contest

Congratulations to the recent Elks Lodge Americanism Essay contest winners! This contest was open to students across the district. The three Division 1 winners (grades 5/6) were Edge Elementary School students in Angela Barry’s 5th grade English Language Arts (ELA) class. Their essay topic was “What Does Freedom of Speech Mean to Me?” Essays were judged on originality, development of theme, and mechanics. The students were recognized at the annual Elks Lodge Community Service and Americanism Essay awards banquet held on February 29th.

Articles - 2020 - OPSF - Teacher Grants

The Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation (OPSF) recently awarded twenty-seven teacher grants, five CHELCO grants and twenty-two OPSF grants, this year for a total of $35,602. The grants were funded in part by CHELCO, the Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation, and the State of Florida through the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations and ranged anywhere from $400 - $1,500 per grant.
